A Historical Sunday

A lunar month ago, the Alexandrian Vikram Joshi and the Selucus Nicatorian Abhinav Dasgupta travelled east to Hyderabad. With them, they carried a quiz so powerful, that if fallen in the wrong hands, it could have caused a war.

The moment the news of their travel had reached Hyderabad, furious preparations began. An exponential rise in the number of people pulling in all nighters to mug for the quiz, caused power outages in a few north Indian states. A need for solidarity for tackling this mega quiz saw people cross all political and religious boundaries to unite and prepare as a team.

On the Quiz day, a crowd of 250000 people gathered at the YMCA stadium to witness this grandiose event. People were seen camping outside the gate for hours to get a front row seat. The Quizmasters entered in chariots, with their Chandragupta Mauryan scorekeeper in tow, and were welcomed with a lavish feast and trucks full of gold ornaments. An ambulance was kept ready for those who could not handle the ensuing overwhelming. The quiz began when all the royals had made their fashionably late entrance. Eight teams fought a gruelling battle which was eventually won by the team led by King Jaykay of Kesarkal, but the fight took so much out of him, that his eyesight became blurred for life.

The fabled 'examiner' from the Guinness Book, endorsed the Quiz as the largest audience ever recorded at an event. Quiz weekly gave it a rating of 10/10 on the Rai scale.

The Quizmasters have decided to put the Quiz on tour and the next stop is Bombay on this Sunday. The volumes of people coming in have already caused day long traffic jams and derailing of trains due to overcrowding. Analysts have predicted a crowd of nearly 500000 to turn up at the event. Since the Pinstorm Arena and Convention Center cannot handle this deluge, we will grant admission strictly on a first come first serve basis. Admission is free. Explosives and sharp objects will not be permitted. Cardiac patients and Expectant mothers should stay away as we do not have medical attention available at the venue. But it definitely will be a quiz to die for.
